Setup of a Talas-based Kubernetes cluster on KVM including the provisioning of control plane, worker nodes and HAProxy via Terraform and cloudinit. The project also included the secrets management with Openbao (incl. Kubernetes Auth), a GitOps deployment of the cluster infrastructure via FluxCD (Cilium CNI, Cert-Manager, External-DNS, External Secrets Operator, Longhorn, Openbao, Prometheus Operator) as well as DNS management in Cloudflare via Terraform with External-DNS integration.
Implementation of an automated n8n deployment on Hetzner VPS servers using Terraform and cloudinit, whereby the services are provided via Docker Compose. The system supports two modes - simple (n8n DB + Redis + SWAG) and full (+SSO Auth, monitoring, backups) - with three scripts fully automating the entire setup up to service start in one go.
Permanent positions
Responsible for Linux system administration, VMware vSphere administration and network administration. Core tasks included the development and extension of Python and Bash scripts, the setup of Icinga2 monitoring on Linux VMs and the deployment of a Nextcloud instance using Docker.
Setup and operation of GitOps workflows with ArgoCD on Kubernetes as well as deployment of EKS and Vanilla Kubernetes clusters via Terraform (AWS & Hetzner Cloud). The tasks included the development of CI/CD pipelines (Woodpecker/Drone), containerization with Docker & Docker Compose, observability with Prometheus, Grafana & Loki as well as Infrastructure as Code with Terraform & Ansible (incl. Packer on AWS). In addition, DNS infrastructures were operated, database management with PostgreSQL & MariaDB was carried out and consulting and requirements analyses for migration and platform projects were carried out.
Creation of an internal patch report database for an Orcharhino instance based on Python Flask, Redis, Celery, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Bash, LDAP, Kubernetes/Docker and PostgresDB as well as development of several Python scripts for automated import/export of data.
Bachelor thesis on the topic: Evaluation of software for the automated configuration and administration of virtual IT infrastructures.
